Cardinals Return to Action with Three-Meet Week

The teams will split between the Texas Relays, Bobcat Invitational, and Stanford Invitational.
The University of Louisville track & field teams are set to split between a trio of meets for the second consecutive week from Apr. 1-4.

The teams will be represented at the Texas Relays in Austin, Texas, the Bobcat Invitational in San Marcos, Texas, and the Stanford Invitational in Stanford, Calif.Â

The Cardinals will be represented by a small group of multis and pole vaulters at the 98th annual Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays from Apr. 1-4 at Mike A. Myers Track & Soccer Stadium in Austin, Texas.

Competition will begin on Wednesday morning with the start of the women's heptathlon, which will notably feature 2025 NCAA Outdoor Championships qualifier Lucy Fellows, who will make her return to competition after redshirting the 2026 indoor season.

Along with Fellows and Maya Follmer in the heptathlon, the Cards are also slated to field a number of pole vaulters who will make their season debuts in the event.Â

The pole vault field will include KJ Byrd and Ashley Callahan, who both captured ACC pole vault titles and earned First Team All-American distinction (Byrd in the men's heptathlon and Callahan in the women's pole vault) during the indoor season.

The Louisville jumpers will begin their outdoor season elsewhere in the Lone Star State at the Bobcat Invitational from Apr. 2-4 at the Texas State Track & Field Complex in San Marcos, Texas.

Competition will begin for the Cards on Friday afternoon and continue into Saturday with the Cards set to primarily be represented in the long jump and triple jump events.
Â
Roman Kuleshov and Miller Jones will open out their outdoor seasons after a stellar indoor season for the pair that saw Kuleshov win his first career ACC title in the men's triple jump and Jones earn Men's Field MVP at the ACC Indoor Championships after earning a pair of silver medals at the conference meet.

The Louisville distance squad will round out the weekend at the Stanford Invitational, which will take place on Apr. 3-4 at Cobb Track & Angell Field in Stanford, Calif.

Competition will primarily be concentrated on Friday evening for the Cardinals with the men's 800m slated to cap off the meet for the Cards on Saturday.
Â
Elsingi Kipruto will notably make his collegiate outdoor debut in the men's 5000m after an indoor season where he earned fourth place in the event at the NCAA Indoor Championships on his way to earning ACC Men's Indoor Freshman of the Year honors.
