Louisville defeated the Eagles 14-13 on Saturday afternoon
A new career-high three RBIs for Camryn Lookadoo propelled the Cards to victory in the rubber match. Easton Lotus also tallied three RBIs, tying her career high.
Louisville jumped out to a hot start in the top of the first, putting up four runs thanks to a clutch 2-RBI single by Jac Hasty and a 2-RBI double from Camryn Lookadoo.
The Cardinals added to their lead in the third, capitalizing on a hit-by-pitch and three walks before exploding for six more runs. Lotus and Char Lorenz each delivered key hits, with Lotus adding two RBIs and stealing a base in the process. By the end of the third, Louisville led 10–2.
Boston College refused to go quietly. After a 2-run homer by Stephens in the first, the Eagles clawed back with a four-run fourth inning—capitalizing on an error and timely hits from Slike and Stephens.
Louisville tacked on four more runs in the sixth behind an RBI double from Lookadoo and a triple by Chelsea Mack, giving them what seemed to be a comfortable 14–7 cushion.
But Boston College answered once again in the bottom half, cutting the deficit to 14–12 before a final push in the seventh. With runners on and one out, Robinson's RBI single made it a one-run game, but the Cardinals clamped down just in time—retiring the final two batters to escape with the win.
Lotus went 3-for-5 with three RBIs and two runs scored, while Stephens powered the BC offense with a 4-RBI day.
The Cards will return to action next weekend for a road series against Virginia. The games are scheduled for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 5 p.m., 5 p.m., and 1 p.m., respectively.
