Louisville Finishes in a Tie for 17th at The Prestige

LA QUINTA, Calif. – The University of Louisville men's golf team wrapped up play at The Prestige, hosted by UC Davis at PGA West's Greg Norman Course, finishing in a tie for 17th with a team total of 863 (+11).
The Cardinals entered the final round in 11th place after shooting a 6-under-par as a team on Tuesday. However, the Cardinals fell into a tie for 17th after carding an 8-over-par 292 in the final round of action.
San Diego's Ryan Abuan carded an 11-under 202 to lead the Toreros to victory on Wednesday afternoon. Abuan won the tournament's individual title with rounds of 68, 69, and 65. His efforts helped the Toreros finish first in the 24-team field at PGA West - Norman Course (Par 71, 7,129 yards), coming in 16 strokes ahead of second-place Texas Tech.
Louisville was led by Sebastian Moss who finished the tournament in a tie for 19th place after firing a 3-under-par 210. After shooting over-par on the first day, Moss responded by shooting 5-under-par over the final 36 holes. He shot 69 on the final day of action to propel himself to another top-20 finish.After opening with a first-round score of 75, Johnson responded by shooting 71 and 73.
Cooper Claycomb placed in 68th place with his three-day total of 220. He closed the tournament by shooting rounds of 76-73-75=220. Patrick Keeling finished with a 226 by netting rounds of 74-77-75. Brady Smith finished in 119th after shooting a 4-over-par.
Louisville returns to action on March 8-10 at the Hayt Invitational at the Sawgrass Country Club in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.
