Cardinals Move Up to Sixth Place After Second Round of Moon Golf

Freshman Bailey Burkett leads the team at one-under-par for the tournament
MELBOURNE, Fla. — The Louisville women's golf team moved up the leaderboard and is now tied for sixth overall after the second round of the Moon Golf Invitational Monday afternoon. Playing at the Suntree Golf Course, the Cardinals posted a team-score of 6-over-par 286 on Monday to move up one slot into a tie for sixth overall heading into the final round.
Bailey Burkett continued to put together a strong tournament as she moved up the leaderboard on Monday. She shot a team-best 1-under-par 71 on Monday and is tied for fifth overall. She sits at 1-under-par for the tournament heading into the final round after she had four birdies on Monday.
Carmen Griffiths also moved up the leaderboard after an even-par 72 in the second round. Griffiths had two birdies on the day and is 14th overall heading into the final 18 holes on Tuesday.
A couple shots behind Griffiths is Veronika Exposito, who is tied for 21st overall. She is 3-over-par for the tournament but put together a 1-over-par 73 in the second round on Monday with three birdies.
Thienna Huynh and Gabbi Bentancourt are both tied for 46th overall at 6-over-par through the first two rounds. The duo both carded a 3-over-par 75 for the second round on Monday.
Rounding out the squad for the Cards is Beatriz Barrios and Millie Cottrell. Barrios is tied for 60th overall at 8-over-par after putting together a 4-over-par 76 on Monday. Cottrell is tied for 74th overall at 12-over-par after a 7-over-par 79 in the second round.
