Louisville Travels to SMU for Final ACC Matchup of the Season

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville football team will travel to Dallas to take on the SMU Mustangs at Gerald Ford Stadium in its last Atlantic Coast Conference matchup of the season with kickoff set for 12:00 p.m. ET.

Series History
Saturday's game will mark the fourth meeting between the two teams, with SMU leading 3-0 in the series. Most recently, the Mustangs defeated the Cardinals on Oct. 5, 2024, at L&N Stadium.
The 34-27 loss gave UofL its first Atlantic Coast Conference loss of the 2024 season. Quarterback Tyler Shough connected with wide receiver Ja'Corey Brooks for an 86-yard touchdown to tie the game 27-27 late in the third quarter. A fourth quarter SMU touchdown secured the Mustangs the win.
Shough went 22-for-35 for 329 yards and two touchdowns, while Brooks caught three passes for 121 yards and both of Shough's touchdowns. Running back Isaac Brown ran for 117 yards on 10 attempts, averaging 11.7 yards per carry.

Louisville (7-3, 4-3 ACC) hopes to flip the script after coming off its second straight loss, coming up short 20-19 against Clemson on Nov. 14.
Quarterback Miller Moss went 19-for-27 and 212 yards, also adding his team-leading eighth rushing touchdown of the season. Running back Keyjuan Brown recorded 135 yards on 15 carries, marking his second straight 100-yard game. Wide receiver Caullin Lacy connected with tight end Nate Kurisky for a 2-yard trick play touchdown.
Linebacker Stanquan Clark made his return known after missing the last seven contests, tying the team lead in tackles with seven and adding 1.5 tackles for loss. Linebacker Antonio Watts also recorded seven tackles while forcing a fumble. Defensive lineman Clev Lubin earned the defense's lone sack of the game.

SMU (7-3, 5-1 ACC) is coming off a bye week after beating Boston College 45-13 on Nov. 8., marking its second straight win.
Quarterback Kevin Jennings comes into the contest ranked No. 2 in the ACC in passing yards (2,810), passing yards per game (281), and touchdowns through the air (21).
The SMU defense has been one of the best in the country in the big play department. The Mustangs lead the nation in turnovers gained with 26, ranking No. 4 in fumble recoveries (10) and interceptions (16). SMU is also sixth nationally in sacks (32).
Safety Ahmaad Moses leads all FBS players with 5 interceptions, while defensive lineman Isaiah Smith owns the national lead for TFLs per game (1.6).
