October 13, 2026 | Football
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville offensive lineman Lance Robinson was named the Outland Trophy National Player of the Week released on Tuesday by the Football Writers Association of America.
Robinson is the first Louisville player to earn the Outland Trophy's player of the week honor in its four-year existence. He was already recognized as the ACC Offensive Lineman of the Week on Monday.
The Camilla, Ga., native played all 58 snaps across three different positions in Louisville's 44-20 win over Florida State on Friday night. Robinson started the night at right tackle before sliding to left tackle along with playing snaps at center.
Robinson was part of the Louisville offensive line that paved the way for the Cardinals' huge rushing day. The Cards finished with 397 yards on 43 carries and scored all six of their touchdowns on the ground. The 397 yards were the ninth-most in school history and the most since gaining 411 at Syracuse in 2017. It was also the second-highest total ever allowed in Florida State's storied history.
The six rushing touchdowns were the most by the Cardinals against an FBS opponent since tallying seven in 2016, also against Florida State.
The Cardinals are back in action on Saturday with a road contest at Syracuse. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET on the ACC Network.
