Cards Come Up Short to Clemson
November 14, 2025 | Football
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville football team dropped Friday night's contest to Clemson by a final score of 20-19 at L&N Stadium.
It marked the Cards' third overall loss of the season, all three being Atlantic Coast Conference losses, and each by three points or less.
Trailing 20-19 with 02:29 left in the game, Clemson had a botched punt to give Louisville a short-field on the Tigers' 23-yard line.
A couple of UofL penalties moved the Cards back on the potential go-ahead drive. Cardinals' kicker Nick Keller lined up for a 46-yard field goal to give the Cards the lead, however it was unsuccessful. Louisville would get the ball back once more in the final minute, but was unable to get into scoring range.
Miller Moss finished the game passing for 212 yards and rushing for a score. Tailback Keyjuan Brown had 135 yards on the ground, one shy of his career high set in the previous game against Cal. Wideout Caullin Lacy finished with four catches on the day for 60 yards receiving, and added a passing touchdown on the day. Tight end Nate Kuriksy was on the receiving end of the Lacy touchdown pass.
Louisville's defense was led by the duo of Antonio Watts and Stanquan Clark, each finishing with seven tackles on the night. Watts also added a forced fumble. Defensive lineman Clev Lubin recorded the only sack in the contest for the Cardinals defense.
UofL head coach Jeff Brohm had this to say:
"Disappointing loss. Losses hurt. They are supposed to. There were critical mistakes at the end. We have to put our head down and go to work and play better next week."
