No. 19 Louisville Hosts Clemson for Friday Night Lights

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The No. 19-ranked University of Louisville football team will host Clemson for its third Friday night matchup of the season inside L&N Federal Credit Union Stadium at 7:30 p.m. ET.

Series History
Clemson leads all-time meetings 8-1, and Tigers head coach Dabo Swinney has led CU for the entire series. Louisville recorded its first ever win over Clemson on Nov. 2, 2024, in Death Valley.

The 33-21 win came when the Tigers were 11th in the country and the Cards handed them their first and only Atlantic Coast Conference loss of 2024. UofL scored on five consecutive drives to take control of the game with running back Isaac Brown sealing the win on a 45-yard rushing touchdown in the fourth quarter.

Brown totaled 156 rushing yards on 20 attempts, and kicker Brock Travelstead made four field goals in the win. Louisville quarterback Tyler Shough went 17-for-32 and 156 yards and the Cards' defense sacked Clemson quarterback Cade Klubnik twice in the game.

Notes on Louisville
Louisville (7-2, 4-2 ACC) looks to bounce back after its second overtime loss of the season, taking a 29-26 defeat from Cal on Nov. 8.

Quarterback Miller Moss went 20-for-38 and 203 yards against the Golden Bears and logged a 1-yard rushing touchdown in the game. Kicker Cooper Ranvier posted four field goals, a new career high, to add to the Cards' scoring.

Running back Keyjuan Brown ran for 136 yards on 14 carries, marking the first 100-yard game of his career. Fellow running back Duke Watson got UofL on the board first with a 1-yard rushing touchdown in the first quarter and finished the game with 27 yards on eight attempts. Wide receivers Caullin Lacy and Chris Bell combined for 10 catches and 109 yards on the night.

Defensive lineman Clev Lubin led with nine solo tackles and one TFL in the game. Louisville's defense totaled five TFLs on the night, and defensive linemen Wesley Bailey, AJ Green and Jordan Guerad added the Cards' three sacks.

Notes on Clemson
Clemson (4-5, 3-4 ACC) is coming off of a 24-10 win over Florida State in Clemson last weekend. Prior to that, the Tigers had dropped two straight home games to SMU and Duke.

Against the Seminoles, quarterback Cade Klubnik went 20-of-27 for 221 yards, adding one touchdown through the air and one on the ground for the only touchdowns of the night. Kicker Nolan Hauser added the other three scores for the Tigers, all on field goals.

The CU defense sacked FSU starting quarterback Tommy Castellanos five times and wide receiver Squirrel White, who took one snap for Florida State, once in the win. Defensive back Ashton Hampton logged seven solo tackles and two pass breakups to lead Clemson on defense. Cornerback and Jim Thorpe Award semifinalist Avieon Terrell sacked FSU twice for 11 total yards and logged three solo tackles.

The Tigers are led by head coach Dabo Swinney, who is in his 18th year in Death Valley. The two-time national champion coach is 184-52 with Clemson, making him the winningest coach in ACC history. CU took home the ACC title last season after a 34-31 win over SMU in the ACC Championship Game.
