No. 18 Cards take on No. 7 Wake Forest Friday at 6:30 p.m.
The No. 18-ranked University of Louisville field hockey team will continue Atlantic Coast Conference play on Friday at 6:30 p.m. when No. 7 Wake Forest visits Trager Stadium for an ACC Network televised game.

• Louisville was picked to finish eighth in the ACC preseason coaches poll.
• Louisville's Trager Stadium will serve as the host site for the 2025 ACC Championship. The Cardinals last hosted the event in 2017 when they advanced to the title game.
• Justine Sowry is in her 15th season at the helm. During her tenure, Sowry has guided the Cardinals to nine NCAA tournament appearances, advancing to the quarterfinals in three of the last six years and reaching the semifinals in 2020.

Faye Janse's goal in double overtime lifted host Wake Forest to a 3-2 win over the University of Louisville in an Atlantic Coast Conference field hockey game Sunday at Kentner Stadium.
              Aimee Plumb scored a pair of goals as the Cardinals battled to a 2-2 tie in regulation, but the Demon Deacons prevailed in double overtime to secure the victory. In the game, Wake Forest outshot Louisville 10-6 while the Cards held a 6-4 edge in shots on goal and a 5-3 advantage in penalty corners.
Scouting the Demon Deacons: Wake Forest brings a 7-2 overall record and a 3-0 mark in ACC play into the weekend. The Demon Deacons are riding a seven-game win streak which includes a 2-1 victory at then-No. 2 North Carolina last Friday. Prior to that, Wake picked up wins against then-No. 4 Syracuse and No. 13 Boston College.
• Lauren Storey leads the team with 10 goals and 23 points while Ellie Todd carries a 1.27 goals against average.
• Jennifer Averill is in her 34th season at the helm and has guided the Demon Deacons to three national titles, a pair of runner-up finishes and 18 NCAA appearances during her tenure.Â

The Cardinals are ranked No. 18 in the National Field Hockey Coaches Association rankings released on Sept. 30, dropping two spots following a 2-1 shootout loss at Stanford last Friday.
• Louisville made its season debut at No. 16 on Sept. 23 after a pair of wins over top-15 opponents in Ohio State and Saint Joseph's. It marked the first time since Oct. 1, 2024 when they were also ranked 16th.
• The Cards have made at least one appearance in the NFHCA coaches poll every season since 2013.
• Prior to dropping out of the rankings on Oct. 8, 2024, Louisville spent 122 consecutive weeks in the top 20 in the nation dating back to the 2013 season.
