Cards Clinch Second Home Victory with 5-2 Win Against Dayton

Louisville improves to 3-1 on the season
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville women's tennis team earned their second consecutive win, defeating the Dayton Flyers 5-2 Friday evening at Bass-Rudd Tennis Center. UofL is now 3-1 on the season.
Louisville dominated in doubles, claiming the victory in all three games.
Elena Noguero and Berta Miret won the first match in straight sets, 6-0 against Dayton's Montserrat Sierra and Haley Klein at No. 3. Elisabeth Iila and Alice Otis then clinched the point at No. 2 with a 6-1 victory over Neena Katauskas and Laura Greb. Louisville's No. 1 duo Allie Gretowski and Lika Peresypkina rounded out the doubles match-up, defeating Natalie Osiecki and Stela Vlaisavljevic 6-1.
In singles, Alice Otis took the first point with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Natalie Osiecki at No. 1. Allie Gretowski defeated Stela Vlaisavljevic 6-1, 6-2 at No. 4 to secure Louisville's lead at 3-0. At No. 5, Cardinal sophomore Germany Davis pulled out a 6-1, 6-4 victory against Montserrat Sierra. Elena Noguero came up short in a three-sets, falling 2-6, 6-2, (0-1) 6-10 to Laura Greb at No. 3. Shortly after, Berta Miret dropped a tiebreaker 6-4, 6-2, (0-1) 6-10 at No. 6 against Haley Klein. In the final set, Lika Peresypkina battled Neena Katauskas in a three-set tiebreaker to win 5-7, 7-6, (2-1) 10-5.
The Cards are back on the court at Bass-Rudd Tennis Center on Friday, Feb. 7, facing off against Austin Peay with the first serve slated for 4 p.m.
