LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Former University of Louisville women's golf assistant coach Mary Bryan passed away Tuesday at the age of 78 after a 12-month battle with pancreatic cancer.

Bryan was a fixture on the LPGA Tour during her professional career and also competed on the LPGA Senior Circuit. Following her playing career, Bryan transitioned to the broadcast booth with over 300 national broadcasts on ESPN, CBS, NBC, ABC, The Golf Channel and called NCAA Championships. She was the first woman to broadcast a men's major PGA Tour event, when the PGA Championship came to the Riviera Country Club.
A celebration of Mary's life will be held at a later date.
