Anna DeBeer and Elena Scott Named to the AVCA Player of the Year Watch List

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- University of Louisville outside hitter Anna DeBeer and libero Elena Scott were named to the first-ever American Volleyball Coaches Association Watch List for its 2024 Division I Player of the Year Award, presented by Nike Volleyball.
DeBeer and Scott are in the first of three groups to be announced.Â
The inaugural list includes 36 players from 21 schools, and the names will be revealed in groups of 12 over three days—from Wednesday., Sept. 18 to Friday, Sept. 20. There is no order to which list players are on, except that all of a school's candidates will appear the same day.
The Watch List will be narrowed down in November, and then the names of the finalists will be released before the AVCA Convention. The 2024 AVCA Player of the Year will be announced on Friday, Dec. 20, in Louisville, KY, during the AVCA Convention.
