
Three Cardinals Named WGCA All-American Scholars

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The University of Louisville women's golf team was well represented after the 2023-24 WGCA All-American Scholar Team was announced on Monday. Beatriz Barrios, Rylee Suttor and Carmen Griffiths were all named to the team that recognizes the top golfers on and off the course.
The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics and continue to demonstrate the high-level academic achievements of our players. To be selected, a student-athlete must:
All three of the players were named to the All-ACC Academic team last month and Griffiths was just named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team this past week. It is the third-straight year Griffiths has been named to the WGCA All-American Scholar Team as she has earned the honor in each of her collegiate seasons so far.
Griffiths was one of two Cardinals to advance to the NCAA Regional round after she led the team with five Top-20 finishes and six rounds in the 60's this season. Suttor competed in 10 tournaments for the Cards and had a team-best finish at the ACC Championships when she placed tied for 20th overall. Barrios had her first season with the Cardinals and her best finish came at the Collegiate Invitational, where she finished tied for 16th overall.

- Have an overall cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher.
- Be an amateur and on the team's roster through the conclusion of the team's season.
- Have played in 50% of the college's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year nominated through the team's conference championship.
