Louisville Baseball Announces 2024 Summer Assignments

The Cardinals have 15 student-athletes playing across three leagues.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville baseball program has announced summer ball assignments for 15 of its returning student-athletes.
The Cardinals have 15 players spread across three leagues – Cape Cod League, Northwoods League and New England Collegiate Baseball League.
Eight Cardinals will head to the Northeast to compete in the illustrious Cape Cod League, which is set to get underway on June 15.
Parker Detmers and Patrick Forbes will play for the Brewster Whitecaps, while Colton Hartman and Matt Klein were assigned to the Cotuit Kettleers. Justin West will pitch for the Bourne Braves, with Tucker Biven pitching for the Orleans Firebirds and Michael Lippe playing for the Wareham Gatemen.
Zion Rose will play for the Falmouth Commodores, while also heading to Cary, N.C., for the U.S. Collegiate National Team Trials later this month.
Lucas Moore is playing in the Northwoods League for the Waterloo Bucks, with the summer season already underway.
Play has also begun in the NECBL, where six Cardinals are stationed. Alex Alicea, Jared Lessman and Braxton Stewart are spending the summer with the Keene SwampBats. Mitchell Dean and Ty Starke are pitching for the Newport Gulls, and TJ Schlageter is playing with the Martha's Vineyard Sharks.
