LOUISVILLE, Ky.— The University of Louisville men's golf team will tee it up at the Aggie Invitational beginning Saturday morning at Traditions Golf Club in Bryan, Texas, looking to win the tournament for the second-straight season.
Louisville captured the 2023 edition by outlasting host Texas A&M by three strokes. The Cards finished the tournament at 12-under-par to secure their first win under head coach Ryan Blagg.
The Traditions Club is the home course to the host school of Texas A&M. The track will play as a par-72 and run 7,227 yards. The field will play 36 holes on Saturday and the final round will be played on Sunday, as tee times begin at 8:20 a.m. (ET) each day.
The Cards have been off for the last two weeks after capturing a win at the General Hackler Championship at the Dunes Golf and Beach Club Wednesday in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
The Cardinals won their first tournament championship, and the second under head coach Ryan Blagg, since capturing the Aggie Invitational during the 2022-2023 season.
Entering the final round with a one-shot lead, the Cardinals dominated action by shooting a 5-under-par 283 to win by five shots ahead of host Coastal Carolina, which shot even-par. The Cardinals closed the tournament at 5-under-par for the entire tournament after carding rounds of 286-290-283=859.
Max Kennedy won his second career, with his other career win coming last season at this same tournament. He shot 7-under-par, besting a group of four golfers, who finished at 6-under-par.
Cooper Claycomb will also be competing in one of the top spots after he shot a 6-under-par to finish in a tie for third place at the General Hackler.
This will be the fourth trip for the Cardinals to this illustrious tournament, who have finished no worse than in sixth place in their three previous attempts.
