Claycomb Leads Cards at the Aggie Invitational

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Cooper Claycomb finished in a tie for seventh to lead the University of Louisville men's golf team after two rounds of the Aggie Invitational at the Traditions Golf Club in Bryan, Texas on Saturday.
As a team, the Cardinals sit in fifth place after shooting 24-over-par after the first two rounds of action. The Cards shot 305-295=600 to sit 18 shots off the lead. Baylor tops the field at 6-over-par, while Texas A&M is in second place at 18-over-par and Louisiana Tech is in third place after firing a round of 22-over-par. Sam Houston is in fourth place, one shot ahead of the Cards.
Claycomb got off to a slow start in round one after he carded a 4-over-par 76. He responded with a second round of 2-under-par to vault into the top 10. He enters the final round just three shots off the lead.
The second round was nearly flawless for Claycomb, who totaled three birdies and just one bogey. He would birdie No.8 on the front and No. 12 and No. 14 on the back before suffering a bogey on No. 18.
Easton Johnson is in the top 20 after shooting a 7-over-par 151. He enters the final round in a tie for 19th place. Clay Pendergrass is tied for 26th after shooting an 8-over-par 152. Sebastian Moss is tied for 33rd place and Max Kennedy, who won this event a year ago, is tied for 38th after his rounds of 10-over-par.
