Kuleshov Wins Triple Jump at New Mexico Collegiate Classic to Finish Split Weekend

The University of Louisville track & field teams wrapped up their first split weekend of the 2024 indoor season on Saturday, competing at the New Mexico Collegiate Classic and Mey Invitational.

Roman Kuleshov picked up the second event win for the Cardinals at the New Mexico Collegiate Classic, posting a mark of 15.36m (50-4.75) to win the men's triple jump.
Â
Alba Cuns Iglesias also competed in the women's triple jump in Albuquerque, recording a new personal-best mark of 12.81m (42-0.5) to place eighth overall in a loaded field.
Â
Louisville was also represented well at the Meyo Invitational on Saturday, with a pair of student athletes competing in the men's Adam Beltran weight throw.

Noah Koch finished fourth in the event with a mark of 19.50m (63-11.75), while Ethan Alyea made his season debut with a heave of 19.24m (63-1.5) to take sixth.

Zoe Yeast closed out the weekend for the Cardinals, taking part in the women's Adam Beltran invitational weight throw in South Bend, where she placed eighth with a mark of 18.03m (59-2).

While splitting between three meets this weekend, the Cardinals totaled four event victories, 14 top-five finishes, and saw nine personal-best performances.
Â
Next weekend, the Cardinals will head to Boston, Mass., the site of this year's ACC indoor Championships, for Boston College's Eagle Invite from Feb. 9-10.
