Cards Sit In Fourth After First Round of the Prestige

LA QUINTA, Calif. — Senior Max Kennedy fired a 4-under-par 67 to lead an impressive round one performance for the University of Louisville men's golf team on Monday, which ended day one of The Prestige in fourth place overall on the team leaderboard and sits six shots off the lead. The Cardinals, who shot a collective 7-under-par 277, are trailing Texas Tech, Kansas State and Washington heading into round two.
Kennedy is tied for sixth place after another solid round of action this spring. The senior carded four birdies on the round to sit just two shots off the lead after Monday's 18 holes of action. Tyran Snyder of Texas Tech is the leader in the clubhouse after his round of 65. There are four players just one shot off the lead heading into Tuesday's second round.
Easton Johnson posted his best round of the spring by carding a 2-under-par 69 to sit in a tie for 19th place. Clay Pendergrass finished in the top 30 by ahooting a 1-under-par 70 to stand in a tie for 24th place. Sebastian Moss is tied for 37th after carding an even-par-round of 71 and Cooper Claycomb is tied for 76th after shooting over par with a 74.
The Cardinals return to the Greg Norman Course at PGA West on Tuesday and Wedensday for two more rounds of 18. Along with members of the Iowa State and Loyola Marymount teams, Louisville will tee-off on hole No. 1 starting at 11:55 ET.
