Cards Stand in a Tie for Fifth after Two Rounds at the Prestige

LA QUINTA, Calif. — Cooper Claycomb of the University of Louisville men's golf team shot 68 on Tuesday as the Cards stand in a tie for fifth place after two rounds of play at the Prestige.
Collectively, the Cardinals dropped into a tie for fifth place with Washington at 9-under-par after shooting a 2-under-par 282 on Tuesday. Texas Tech continues to lead the field at 24-under after shooting 11-below-par during second round action.
Claycomb fired a 3-under-par and played a bogey-free front nine. He birdied two holes on the front and three consecutive holes on 10-12 to move into a tie for 40that even-par.
Easton Johnson moved into a tie for 20that 3-under for the tournament after shooting a second-round score of 70.
Clay Pendergrass moved into a tie for 33rdafter his round of 71 and Max Kennedy, who sat in the top 10 after Monday, dipped into a tie for 40thafter his round of 75. Sebastian Moss is tied for 58thafter firing a 73 on Tuesday.
The Cardinals will begin the final round of action on Wednesday morning.
