Men's Tennis Set for Battle of the Bluegrass at Kentucky

Cardinals travel to Lexington for lone match of the week
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – UofL men's tennis will travel to No. 16 Kentucky on Friday evening for the Battle of the Bluegrass. The match will begin at the Hilary J. Boone Tennis Complex at 5 p.m. ET.
The Cardinals have never beaten the Wildcats in the series dating back to 1983. No. 16 Kentucky (4-1) is the Cardinals' first ranked opponent of the season. Louisville got a taste of UK at the Malibu Showdown in September.
Louisville (4-1) is coming off a 1-1 split weekend at the ITA Kickoff where the squad narrowly fell to LSU 4-2 before defeating ACC foe Clemson 4-0.
Sophomore captain No. 56 Will Mayew has continued his undefeated singles streak, moving to 5-0 on the year with three victories in the fourth spot in the lineup. Duo Andre' Steinbach and Miguel Avendaño are also undefeated 4-0 in doubles.

Scouting the Wildcats: Kentucky opened its season with 7-0 sweeps over Northern Kentucky and Eastern Kentucky at home before traveling to Illinois and winning 4-3. The Wildcats hosted an ITA Kickoff site last weekend and beat Notre Dame 4-0 before falling to Alabama in the site championship 4-2.
