No. 4 Cardinals Head East to Face Syracuse and Boston College

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The 4th-ranked University of Louisville volleyball team will hit the road for two more Atlantic Coast Conference matchups as the Cards travel to Syracuse on Friday and Boston College on Sunday.

First serve for Friday's match is slated for 6 p.m. in Syracuse, N.Y., with Sunday's match set for 1 p.m. in Chestnut Hill, Mass.

UofL recorded two sweeps over Notre Dame in a home-and-home series against the Fighting Irish this past week, taking the win in Louisville on Wednesday before besting the Irish in South Bend, Ind., on Saturday.

In Wednesday's match, outside hitter Anna DeBeer posted her fourth consecutive double-double with 10 kills and 10 digs, making it her ninth double-double on the season. Freshman outside hitter Payton Petersen recorded new career highs in kills (9), digs (5), and total attacks (29) during Wednesday's match. Defensive specialist Kamden Schrand served four aces on the week, with a career high three aces coming in Saturday's match. Across both matches, middle blocker Hannah Sherman knocked down 12 kills, two solo blocks, and six block assists to hit .588 on the weekend.

Freshman setter Nayelis Cabello was named ACC Freshman of the week for the fourth time this season for her work against Notre Dame. Cabello posted 33 assists and 10 digs on the weekend. In her first season, she owns eight aces, 412 assists, and 114 digs.

The match against Boston College will see a battle of the middle blockers when Louisville's Cara Cresse goes against BC's Julia Haggerty. In blocks per set, Cresse is fourth in the NCAA with 1.56, while Haggerty leads the nation with 1.99. Haggerty also owns an NCAA leading 169 total blocks of the Eagles' 271 on the season.
