Nayelis Cabello Tabbed ACC Setter of the Week for Second Straight Week

The junior averaged 12.08 assists and 3.58 digs per set in victories over No. 15 Creighton, Missouri and Rice.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – University of Louisville setter Nayelis Cabello has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Setter of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Monday.
The award marks the second consecutive week Cabello has been named ACC Setter of the Week and the sixth time she has earned the honor in her career.
The junior averaged 12.08 assists and 3.58 digs per set across three matches last week, leading Louisville to a team hitting percentage of .290 in victories over No. 15 Creighton, Missouri and Rice.
Cabello began the week with a season-high 59 assists in Louisville's four-set win over Missouri on Sept. 9, where she also chipped in 13 digs, four kills and three blocks.
She then dished out 34 assists against Rice on Sept. 11 in Louisville's first match of the Rice Invitational, while also recording six kills, two aces, two blocks and tying her career high with 18 digs. Cabello closed her week with 52 assists, 12 digs, two kills, two blocks and an ace in four sets against No. 15 Creighton on Sept. 12.
Through Louisville's first 10 matches of the season, Cabello currently ranks 11th nationally and second in the ACC with 11.05 assists per set. She has also acted as the catalyst for a Louisville offense that ranks second nationally in kills per set (15.03) and eighth nationally in team hitting percentage (.320).
The No. 3-ranked Cardinals will hit the road for a pair of matches this week, beginning with a match at Western Kentucky on Wednesday, Sept. 16. First serve is set for 7 p.m. ET and the match will be streamed on ESPN+.
