
Kirwa Ready for NCAA Cross Country Championships

The men’s 10K will begin at 11:10 a.m. ET and will be televised on ESPNU.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville men's cross country freshman Geoffrey Kirwa will make his championship debut on Saturday morning at the 2024 NCAA Cross Country Championships in Madison, Wis.
The freshman will toe the line in the men's 10K championship race, which will begin at 11:10 a.m. ET at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course. The event will broadcast in its entirety on ESPNU beginning at 9:30 a.m. ET and can also be streamed on ESPN+.
Kirwa became the first Louisville male to qualify for the national cross country meet since Edwin Kibichiy in 2016 after placing seventh individually at the NCAA Southeast Regional Championships in Rock Hill, S.C. last Friday.
The native of Kapsabet, Kenya covered the 10K course in 29:59.2 to earn an individual bid to the NCAA Championships and become only the ninth male in program history to dip under the 30-minute barrier for the 10K distance on the cross country course.
