Louisville Cross Country Announces 2026 Schedule

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville Director of Track & Field and Cross Country Joe Franklin has announced the cross country schedule for the 2026 fall season.
The Cardinals will begin Franklin's fourth season at the helm of the program on Sep. 4 when a limited group of individuals travel to the Stegemoller Screagle Invite. The meet will be hosted by the University of Southern Indiana at the USI Cross Country Course in Evansville, Ind.
The first team action of the 2026 season will take place on Sep. 19 with the John McNichols Invitational in Terre Haute, Ind. The meet will also provide the Cardinals with their first look at the Lavern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course, which will host the NCAA Cross Country Championships in late November.
Louisville will close out their regular season on Oct. 9 at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational, one of the top regular season meets in the nation, which will be staged at Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course in Madison, Wis.
The postseason will begin on Oct. 30 with the ACC Cross Country Championships, which will be hosted by Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Va. at Buford Meredith Cross Country Course.
Following the conference championship meet, the Cardinals will contest the NCAA Southeast Regional Cross Country Championships on Nov. 13 at the Roger Milliken Center in Spartanburg, N.C.
Qualifying teams and individuals will then return to Terre Haute, Ind. for the NCAA Cross Country Championships, which are set to be contested on Nov. 21.
