LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The No. 4-ranked University of Louisville Cardinals are slated to travel this week to take on Atlantic Coast Conference opponents, No. 21 Florida State and RV Miami.Â
Louisville will travel to Tallahassee on Friday to face the Seminoles where first serve is set for 6:30Â p.m.; the Cards will then face the Hurricanes at 1 p.m. on Sunday in Coral Gables.Â
UofL is coming off a 2-0 weekend after sweeping Clemson and No. 19 Georgia Tech in Louisville.Â
Outside hitters Anna DeBeer and Charitie Luper had big weekends for Louisville, knocking down 27 and 23 kills, respectively, across both matches. Setter Nayelis Cabello had 37 assists on the weekend while libero Elena Scott posted 33 digs. Middle blocker Hannah Sherman was a standout for the Cards against Georgia Tech, holding eight of the team's 13 blocks on the match.

- The Cards are ranked No. 2 in the nation in blocks/set and No. 5 in opponent hitting (.135). Elena Scott is No. 12 in digs/set and Cara Cresse is 8th in blocks/set (1.51).
- The Cardinals opened up their ACC schedule with sweeps of Cal, No. 3 Stanford, Clemson and No. 21 Georgia Tech

- The Cardinals are ranked No. 4 in the AVCA Poll. Â Â
- Elena Scott was named Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending 9/29.
- The Cards vs. Huskers game (the first ever on ABC) attracted 684,00 viewers as the most-ever watched regular season on an ESPN platform (peaked 808,000 viewers).Â
- Louisville won the Cardinal Classic, beating Northern Iowa 3-0 and No. 9 Creighton 3-2.
- Elena Scott was voted ACC Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 16Â
- Charitie Luper was MVP of the Cardinal Classic. Elena Scott and Sofia Maldonado Diaz were voted All-CC
- Charitie Luper was named Best Outside Hitter and Elena Scott was voted Best Libero for the 2024 AVCA First Serve All-Star Team. Â
- The win over No. 3 Wisconsin was the win over the  highest ranked opponent since 2021 when the Cards beat No. 3 Pitt.  The Cards' win against  highest-ever ranked opponent was the W over No. 2 Texas in 2019.Â
- Louisville was voted No. 3 in the ACC Coaches Preseason Poll.. with Cara Cresse, Anna DeBeer, Charitie per anud Elena Scott were voted to the Preseason All-ACC squad.
- The crowd of 14,126 at the KFC Yum! Center for the Nebraska game was a school record.Â
- University of Louisville outside hitter Anna DeBeer and libero Elena Scott were named to the first-ever American Volleyball Coaches Association Watch List for its 2024 Division I Player of the Year Award, presented by Nike Volleyball. Â
- Chris Poole is in his 17th season with the Seminoles with an overall record of 918- 355. He was named 2023 ACC Coach of the Year. Â
- In 2023, Florida State finished 23-9 overall and 16-2 in the ACC. They finished second in the ACC and were named ACC Co-Champions. They fell to TCU in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament. Florida State finished 25th in the AVCA Final 2023 Division I Poll.Â
- Audrey Koenig was named ACC Co-Player of the Year, All-ACC First Team, AVCA All-American Honorable Mention, AVCA East All-Region Team. She was named Sep. 30 ACC Offensive Player of the Week and named to the 2024 AVCA Player of the Year Watch List.Â
- Khori Louis was named All-ACC First Team, AVCA All-American Honorable Mention, and AVCA East All-Region Team. Kyleene Filimaua and Kenna Phelan were named to the ACC All-Freshman Team.Â
- Graduate Student transfer from Arkansas, Taylor Head was named to the AVCA Player of the Year Watch List.Â
- The Seminoles are currently 11-3 overall and 3-1 in the ACC. They are ranked 21st  in the AVCA Division I Poll and 7th in the ACC standings.Â

- Jose "Keno" Gandara is in his 11th season leading the Hurricanes program. His all-time record with Miami is 187-110 with a 116-74 record in conference play.
- The Canes finished 2023 with their second straight NCAA Tournament appearance and a fourth place standing in the ACC.
