
Women’s Golf Moves to Fourth Place After Round 2 of Blessings Collegiate Invitational

Thienna Huynh led the Cards with a 2-over-par 74
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The Louisville women's golf team moved into fourth place after the second round of the Blessings Collegiate Invitational Tuesday afternoon at the Blessings Golf Course. The Cardinals shot 17-over-par 305 as a team as all five players competed in the same group, one of the features of the golf tournament that both the men's and women's programs are playing in. The Cardinals team score was the third-lowest in the field on Tuesday.
Thienna Huynh rebounded after a tough opening round to shoot the best individual score for the Cardinals on Tuesday. She fired a 2-over-par 74 in the second round to move into the top-20 overall. Huynh is tied for 18th overall at 7-over-par 151 through the first two rounds.
Beatriz Barrios was one shot behind Huynh on Tuesday when she carded a 3-over-par 75 for the second round. Barrios leads the Cards on the individual leaderboard as she is 5-over-par 149 and tied for 10th overall. She had two birdies on Tuesday, tied for the most by a Louisville player on the day.
Carmen Griffiths is one stroke behind Huynh on the individual leaderboard as she is tied for 23rd at 8-over-par 152 for the first two rounds. She shot a 5-over-par 77 in the second round and had one birdie for the day.
Bailey Burkett is one stroke behind Griffiths at 9-over-par 153 and tied for 28th overall on the leaderboard. She shot a 7-over-par 79 for the second round.
Closing out the group for the Cardinals is Millie Cottrell, who is tied for 40th overall at 13-over-par 157 through two rounds. On Tuesday, she shot an 11-over-par 83.
The team will be back in action Wednesday afternoon for the third and final round of the tournament. All five players will continue to play together for the entire round and will tee off from hole 1 at 11:05 a.m. Fans can follow along with the live stats here or on our social media channels.
