
Samantha Untiedt Joins Cardinal Volleyball Recruiting Class

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Samantha Untiedt, a 5-8 libero from Okabena, Minn., has joined this year's recruiting class for the No. 6 University of Louisville Cardinals volleyball team.

"Sam is a great final addition to the 2024 class. We had an opportunity late in the recruiting process to connect with Sam and we were blown away by her competitiveness and vibrant personality," said associate head coach Dan Meske. "On the court, Sam is the type of player that Louisville fans will love. She is an elite backrow player who also has the ability to set and I can see her helping us in a number of ways."

Samantha Untiedt is a libero from Okabena, Minn., where she played for Heron Lake-Okabena High School under head coach Jason Fisher in addition to playing club for Kairos 18 Alpha under head coaches Mitch Lunning and Jax Steffel. During her time with Kairos 18 Alpha, she was named to the AAU National All-American team in 2023 as well as being named their MVP in 2021. USA Volleyball named her to their All-Tournament Team in 2023. At Heron Lake-Okabena High School, she was a three-time All-Red Rock Conference selection as well as a three-time All-Area First Worthington Globe Team selection during her freshman, sophomore, and junior years of high school. In 2023, she was named to both the Minnesota All-State Team and All-State Academic Team in Class A. Breakdown named Untiedt to their All-Breakdown Team in 2022 and 2023 in addition to highlighting her as their Featured Player of 2022 in the Minn. High School Volleyball Guidebook. During her sophomore year, she was named Beck's Player with Heart and was added to the Ultra Ankle Watchlist. Untiedt also competed as part of Team Minn. in the Midwest Border Battle in addition to participating in the Under Armour Next Camp Series.
