No. 8 Cardinals Suffer Road Loss at Virginia

Louisville lost 3-0 at Virginia to drop to 6-2-1 on the season.
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The eighth-ranked University of Louisville men's soccer team took a 3-0 loss at Virginia on Friday night.
The loss was just the second of the season for Louisville (6-2-1, 1-2-1 ACC).
Virginia (6-3-1, 2-2-0) struck for a pair of goals in the opening half. The first came from in close in the 17th minute before a shot deflected in off the right post in the 31st minute to give the Cavaliers a 2-0 lead at halftime.
UVA added its third goal of the night in the 71st minute.
The Cavaliers outshot Louisville 16-7 in the match and held a 5-2 advantage in corners.
Louisville will have a quick turnaround with a non-conference match on Monday against Kansas City. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET at Dr. Mark & Cindy Lynn Stadium.
