No. 13 Cardinals Head to UNC Greensboro Friday

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville men's soccer team hits the road for its first road match of the season on Friday at UNC Greensboro. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET and will be televised on ESPN+.
ABOUT THE CARDINALS
Gage Guerra, Sander Roed and Ethan Subachan all found the back of the net in Louisville's 3-0 victory over Bellarmine on Monday.
Alex Svetanoff and the Louisville defense put a second straight clean sheet on the board in the win over Bellarmine. The Cardinals have not allowed a goal through two matches, with Svetanoff recording seven saves.
SERIES HISTORY
Louisville is 0-1-1 all-time against UNC Greensboro. The two teams played to a 1-1 draw last September in Louisville. Both sides netted first half goals, but neither scored in the second half as UofL held a 9-8 edge in shots on the night.
CARDINALS OPEN 2023 SEASON WITH CONSECUTIVE SHUTOUTS
The 2023 season has gotten off to a strong start for Louisville, which has recorded consecutive clean sheets through two matches.
Louisville blanked No. 16 Tulsa in a 1-0 season-opening victory and followed it up with a 3-0 win against Bellarmine.
It marks the first time the Cardinals have started a season with consecutive shutouts since 2014 (Maryland - 1-0, Cornell - 0-0), and the first time with back-to-back shutout victories to begin a season since 2011 (UCLA - 2-0, Wake Forest - 2-0).
SVETANOFF, LEBEL EARN WEEKLY HONORS
The Cardinals collected a trio of honors following a season-opening shutout victory over No. 16 Tulsa.
Redshirt-freshman goalkeeper Alex Svetanoff was named the ACC Defensive Player of the Week in addition to earning a spot on the College Soccer News Men's National Team Of The Week.
Senior defender Bryce LeBel was also named to the TopDrawerSoccer Men's Team of the Week.
LOUISVILLE VAULTS INTO TOP 25
Louisville opened the 2023 season just on the outside of the United Soccer Coaches preseason rankings as one of 12 teams receiving votes outside of the top 25.
The Cardinals needed just one week to return to the top 25, coming in at No. 13 in the latest rankings following a win over No. 16 Tulsa in the season opener.
The Cards spent much of the 2022 campaign ranked, reaching as high as No. 9 in the poll in late October.
