Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET at Dr. Mark & Cindy Lynn Stadium.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville men's soccer team takes the pitch again on Monday against Bellarmine at Dr. Mark & Cindy Lynn Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET and will be televised on ACC Network Extra.
ABOUT THE CARDINALS
Konstantinos Georgallides netted the eventual game-winning goal in the 74th minute in a 1-0 victory over No. 16 Tulsa on Thursday in the season opener.
Alex Svetanoff made his collegiate debut a memorable one on Thursday, starting in goal for the Cardinals and recording a clean sheet. The redshirt-freshman made six saves and blanked 16th-ranked Tulsa.
SERIES HISTORY
Louisville leads the all-time series against Bellarmine 7-6-3, but the Cardinals are 2-0-0 against the Knights since Bellarmine moved up to Division I. The Cards picked up a 3-0 victory in the 2022 meeting.
CARDS RECEIVING VOTES IN PRESEASON TOP 25
Louisville will open up the 2023 season just on the outside of the United Soccer Coaches preseason rankings. The Cardinals were one of 12 teams receiving votes outside of the top 25.
The Cards spent much of the 2022 campaign ranked, reaching as high as No. 9 in the poll in late October.
Louisville has been ranked in each non-COVID affected season under John Michael Hayden.
ROED CLIMBING CAREER ASSISTS CHART
Louisville midfielder Sander Roed had one of the top assist seasons in program history in 2022, tying for the seventh-most in program history with eight.
Roed enters the 2023 campaign with 13 for his two-year career, just one shy of cracking Louisville's all-time top 10.
Tim Kubel (2014-17) owns the program's career record with 26.
THREE CARDS TAKING ADVANTAGE OF EXTRA COVID SEASON
Louisville's experience level on the pitch got an extra boost as three student-athletes took advantage of an extra year of eligibility due to Covid.
Brandon McManus, Bradley Sample and Ryan Troutman all return for one final season. This fall will mark the fifth collegiate seasons for McManus and Sample and the sixth for Troutman.
The trio combined for nearly 3,800 minutes on the pitch in 2022. McManus was second on the team with four goals, while Sample was one of two Cards to start all 12 matches, and Troutman started the final 12 matches in goal.
