Louisville collects national academic team and individual honors
LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The University of Louisville men's tennis team continued to collect academic recognition, earning Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Academic Team honors while four individuals were named ITA Scholar Athletes.
Programs earning ITA All-Academic Team status must have a collective grade point average of 3.2 or above for the current academic year. ITA Scholar Athletes must have a GPA of 3.5 or above for the academic year.
UofL posted a team GPA of 3.34 in the spring semester, marking the 22nd straight semester with a 3.0 or better.
Representing the Cardinals as ITA Scholar Athletes are: Matthew Fung, Will Mayew, David Mizrahi and Alex Wesbrooks.
Louisville Men's Tennis
The 34th-ranked Cardinals finished the 2023 season with a 17-12 overall record and earned their second straight at-large berth and 14th overall appearance in the NCAA tournament. After defeating Texas Tech in the first round, Louisville advanced to NCAA Regional Final for the first time since 2017.
• The 2023 campaign marked the third time in program history that the Cardinals earned NCAA tournament bids as a team as well as singles and doubles and the first since 2011.
