UofL assistant coach Mario Rincon will begin his second stint as a coach for the USTA Collegiate Summer Team
ORLANDO, Fla., - For the second straight year, University of Louisville men's tennis assistant coach Mario Rincon has been selected to coach the USTA Collegiate Summer Team.
The program is designed to help America's premier college players assimilate to professional tennis in a team-oriented environment via USTA Player and Coach Development. In his role, Rincon is one of two coaches on the men's team who will provide assistance to any American collegians playing at tournaments throughout the summer.
Rincon recently completed his fourth season as an assistant coach at UofL and has helped guide the Cardinals to a pair of NCAA team tournament appearances. Most recently, the Cards finished the 2023 campaign with a 17-12 overall record and reached the finals of the NCAA Columbus Regional.
Additionally, Louisville earned at-large bids to the NCAA Individual Championship in both singles and doubles. Two-time All-ACC honoree Etienne Donnet competed in singles and the all-conference duo of Fabien Salle and Natan Rodrigues earned All-America distinction after reaching the quarterfinals in doubles. It marked the third time in program history that the Cardinals earned NCAA tournament bids as a team as well as singles and doubles and the first since 2011.
