Cardinals Add Setter Brigitta Petrenko as Grad Transfer

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The University of Louisville volleyball team is adding graduate transfer Brigitta Petrenko, a 6-0 setter from Coastal Carolina to the roster.

"We are excited about the addition of Brigitta," said UofL head coach Dani Busboom Kelly. "She adds experience to our setter position and is known to be a great teammate and leader."

Petrenko, a recreation and sport management major, led the team with 1,011 assists and moved into the top five of the all-time career assists with 3,488. The Eger, Hungary, native tallied 50 service aces to lead the offensive attack and was tied for second-best in the Sun Belt Conference, which included becoming the all-time career leader in service aces with 195 to date. The Chanticleers finished the season at 17-13 overall, including going 7-2 at home inside the HTC Center.

A member of the Hungarian National Team, she earned All Sun-Belt honors in 2019, 2020 and 2021. She was a five-time Sun Belt Setter of the Week and four-time Sun Belt Freshman of the Week. Petrenko was named the 2019 Sun Belt Freshman of the Year.

An excellent student, she has been on the Dean's List every year and on the President's List as well.
