Louisville Hits the Road for Syracuse

Friday’s series-opening game moved to 12 p.m. Friday
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville softball team will travel to Syracuse for a three-game ACC series this weekend. Due to inclement weather in the area, Friday's series opener has been moved to 12 p.m.

Last weekend, the Orange traveled to South Bend and split the first two games of the series with Notre Dame, falling 10-2 in game one on Friday and picking up a 5-3 win in the first half of a Sunday doubleheader. The teams played to a 0-0 tie in eight innings before the series finale was called due to a drop-dead time.
• Madelyn Lopez leads the team with a .314 batting average. Kelly Breen has belted out two home runs and nine RBIs.
• Lindsey Hendrix (4-7) has carried the bulk of the pitching duties, carrying a 4.44 ERA with 43 strikeouts in 64.2 innings of work.

Sarah Gordon stepped up to the plate and smashed a shot over right center field to make the score 7-4 with no outs in the inning. Another Kentucky miscue allowed Hannah File to reach and a wild pitch moved her into scoring position with the tying run on deck, but a groundout ended the game.
