Cardinals Fall to No. 11 Virginia

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. -- The University of Louisville women's tennis team fell to No. 11 Virginia to close out the road weekend. The Cardinals (8-8, 0-6 ACC) Â fell 6-1 Sunday on the indoor courts at the Boar's Head Sports Club.
Virginia won the doubles point when the Cardinal duo of Andrea Di Palma and Rhea Verma fell 6-4 at No. 1 before the Wahoos then clinched the point when Sasha Gorchanyuk and Maria Campos lost 6-2.
The Cavaliers built up a 4-0 lead before Louisville earned a point with a win on court one. Louisville's Andrea Di Palma dispatched No. 44-ranked Julia Adams 6-2, 7-5. Although Tyra Richardson, Rhea Verma and Maria Campos all forced a third set, the Cavaliers won the remaining two matches for the 6-1 victory.
The Cardinals are back in action on March 24 when the Wake Forest comes to town for a 4 p.m. match. Then on Sunday, NC State will take on the Cardinals on March 26 at noon at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
