
Cards Hold Strong in National Rankings

Louisville stands at No. 23 in the team rankings with four singles players and two doubles teams nationally ranked
The University of Louisville stands at No. 23 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association men's team rankings released on Feb. 8. Additionally, the Cardinals have placed four in the top 125 singles rankings along with a pair of doubles teams in the top 60.

In singles, Fabien Salle stands at No. 26, a career-best for the graduate student who has compiled a 14-5 overall record and is 2-1 in dual matches. Sophomore Natan Rodrigues is slotted at No. 47 and carries a 13-5 overall record with a 2-2 mark in dual matches. Senior Etienne Donnet follows at No. 53 with a team-best 6-0 mark in dual matches and a 13-3 overall record. Senior Matthew Fung rounds out the ranked Cardinals at No. 121.
In doubles, Salle and Rodrigues boast an 18-4 overall record and stand at No. 14 after reaching a career-best No. 9 in the November rankings. Graduate student David Mizrahi and freshman Will Mayew jumped 19 spots to No. 39 and have compiled a 9-4 mark.

The Cardinals, who have been idle since Jan. 30, dropped one spot from last week when they were ranked No. 22 in the team rankings. Louisville has compiled a 5-1 record in the early season, winning its first five matches, including a victory over then-No. 24 Northwestern. On Jan. 29, the Cards opened the ITA Kickoff Weekend with a 4-1 win over Miami before falling host, 15th-ranked Georgia 4-1 in the finals.

The Cards will return to action on Friday when they play host to No. 2 Kentucky at 5 p.m. at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
