Cardinals Play Host to Bellarmine in 2023 Home Opener

Cards will take on Bellarmine Tuesday at 5 p.m. at Ulmer Stadium
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - After three straight weeks on the road to start the season, the Cardinals will open a six-game home stand at Ulmer Stadium starting with a Feb. 28 matchup against cross-town rival Bellarmine. First pitch is at 5 p.m. and admission is free.

• Head coach Holly Aprile is entering her fifth season as UofL's head coach. During her time at the helm – which includes the COVID-19 impacted 2020 season, Aprile guided the Cardinals to 103 wins and an NCAA regional final appearance in 2019.
• Prior to her arrival at Louisville, Aprile, the 2018 ACC Coach of the Year spent 10 seasons (2009-18) as Pittsburgh's head coach and five years (2004-08) as an assistant. In 2018, she earned ACC Coach of the Year honors after leading the Panthers to the 2018 ACC Coastal Division title and a runner-up finish in the ACC tournament.

In the tournament, UofL outscored opponents 38-14 and tallied a pair of eight-run rule victories. Korbe Otis led the way at the plate last weekend with a .615 batting average, three doubles, seven runs, a 1.077 slugging percentage and .750 on-base percentage. Alyssa Zabala and Taylor Roby each picked up a pair of wins with Zabala also earning her first collegiate save in the 4-3 win over Purdue.
