Cards win doubles and four singles matches
LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The University of Louisville's women's tennis team won the doubles points and four of the singles matches to post a 5-2 win over long-time rival Cincinnati Friday afternoon at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
The Cards won the doubles point went Cici Xin and Jamilah Snells combined to dispatch Kelli Niehaus and Maria Santilli 6-0 at No. 2. Sasha Gorchanyuk and Maria Campos followed suit with a 6-1 win over Sofia Bruno and Elizabeth Pendergast at No. 3 to clinch the point.

In singles, the Bearcats evened the score when Xin had to retire at No. 4. Jamilah Snells regained the lead when she beat Cassie McLay 6-1, 6-4. UC tied the score at 2-2 when Katie Ferguson defeated Arielle Nealy 6-3, 6-3 at No. 6. Louisville got wins at No. 5 when Tyra Richardson had a comeback win with a scord of  4-6, 6-3, 6-3 and No. 1 Andrea Di Palma clinched the match with a 7-5, 4-6, 6-4 win over Elizabeth Pendergast. Rhea Verma scored the final point with a 3-6, 7-5, 6-3 gritty win at No. 3.

The Cards will play Austin Peay at 4 p.m. Feb. 17 at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
