The Cardinals begin the season Feb. 16-18 in a four-team event at USF in Tampa, Fla.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville baseball program has announced its schedule for the upcoming 2024 spring season.
Louisville's schedule features a full 56-game slate, including 35 contests at Jim Patterson Stadium.
Dan McDonnell's group will once again face a challenging schedule, with 30 games coming against teams that reached the NCAA Tournament last season. In total, Louisville will square off against 14 NCAA Tournament teams, two of which reached the College World Series, with two others in Super Regionals and four more that reached Regional finals.
The Cardinals, led by McDonnell in his 18th season, will begin the 2024 campaign on Feb. 16 in Tampa, Fla. as part of a four-team round-robin event at USF. The opening weekend will feature games against USF, Indiana State and UConn, all of which have reached a Super Regional in the last three seasons.
Louisville will then return home for 18 consecutive games on its home turf. The pre-conference slate includes three-game weekend series with St. Bonaventure (Feb. 23-25), Youngstown State (March 1-3) and Northwestern (March 8-10), along with a two-game midweek set with Lipscomb (March 12-13). The Cardinals will also host midweek games against Xavier, Eastern Kentucky and Morehead State before conference play begins.
The Cardinals open Atlantic Coast Conference play March 15-17 at home against Virginia Tech, one of five ACC home series. Louisville will also host ACC foes NC State (April 5-7), Virginia (April 12-14), Clemson (April 26-28) and Notre Dame (May 16-18).
Louisville will make ACC road trips to Wake Forest (March 21-23), Florida State (March 28-30), Miami (April 19-21), Boston College (May 2-4) and North Carolina (May 10-12).
The annual Battle of the Bluegrass games against in-state rival Kentucky are set for April 2 in Lexington and April 16 in Louisville. The Cardinals will travel to Vanderbilt on May 7 for the Battle of the Barrel and host Indiana on May 14.
Louisville's other non-conference action includes home games against Bellarmine (March 19), Cincinnati (March 26) and Northern Kentucky (April 30), in addition to home-and-home midweek dates with Western Kentucky (April 9 and April 23).
