LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville men's soccer team turns its attention to postseason play as the Cardinals travel to Pitt for the opening round of the ACC Championship. Kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET and will be televised on the ACC Network.
ABOUT THE CARDINALS
Louisville finished the regular season with a 9-4-3 record for the second straight year and is the No. 9 seed in the ACC Championship.
ACC CHAMPIONSHIP HISTORY
The Cardinals are 7-5-2 all-time in eight ACC Championship appearances. However, Louisville is searching for its first win in the tournament since capturing the 2018 championship with a 1-0 win over North Carolina.
SERIES HISTORY
Louisville is 6-1-0 in seven all-time meetings with Pitt, but Wednesday will be the first postseason matchup between the two. Konstantinos Georgallides scored the eventual game-winner in the 61st minute of a 2-1 Louisville victory over Pitt last September in their last meeting.
ROED CLIMBING CAREER ASSISTS CHART
Louisville midfielder Sander Roed had one of the top assist seasons in program history in 2022, tying for the seventh-most in program history with eight.
Roed is continuing to add to his total, having notched his fifth and sixth assists of the year and 18th and 19th of his career against Wake Forest, moving him into a tie for sixth all-time at Louisville.
Tim Kubel (2014-17) owns the program's career record with 26.
FOLLOW THE SHOT TOTALS
Louisville's offensive attack ranks among the top 20 nationally with 32 goals on the season. When looking for numbers that help indicate success for the Cardinals, the shot column usually tells the story.
John Michael Hayden's club is 9-0-1 this season when it takes more shots than the opposition, and a perfect 8-0-0 when it finishes with more shots on goal.
