Cards Finish in Fourth Place at Wolfpack Match Play Event

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville women's golf team wrapped up its week at the Wolfpack Match Play on Monday, falling to ACC foe NC State, 3-2, to finish in fourth place at Lonnie Poole Golf Course.

NC State's Lea Klimentova set the tone for match, winning her first hole of the day in a 3&2 win over Kendall Griffin.

After Carmen Griffths fell in the second match of the day, the Cardinals picked up their first win on Monday with a 7&5 win for Mairead Martin. Lauren Thibodeau was the other Cardinal performer to pick up a win with a 5&4 win.

Third-ranked South Carolina was awarded the team title, with wins over Notre Dame and Louisville on Sunday followed by a championship-match win over North Carolina on Monday.

With regular season concluded, the Wolfpack will now shift its focus to the ACC Championship at The Reserve Golf Club in Pawleys Island, S.C. The ACC Championship is set to take place April 14-17, followed by NCAA Regionals May 9-11.
