
Cards Tied for Seventh after Two Rounds at the ACC Championships

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Kendall Griffin of the University of Louisville women's golf team finished the first two rounds in a tie for sixth place to pace the Cardinals into a tie for seventh at the ACC Women's Golf Championships at the 6,212-yard, par 72 The Reserve Golf Course in Pawley's Island, S.C.
Collectively, the Cardinals carded a 14-over-par 590 to close the first day 22 shots off the lead. Wake Forest and Florida State are tied for the overall lead at 8-under-par. The Cardinals opened play with a first round 299 but improved by eight shots to finish at 14-over-par for the day.
Griffin continued to be the top player for the Cards after shooting a 3-under-par 69 during the second round of action. After carding an opening round 73, Griffin responded with a pair of birdies on the front nine and three on the back to end the day seven shots off the lead. Phoebe Brinker of Duke paces the field at 9-under-par.
Carmen Griffiths is tied for 20th place after she finished the first two rounds at 3-over par. She opened play with a 71 but that up with a 75. Mairead Martin opened with a 6-over-par 77 and found her game during the next 18 holes by shooting an even-par 72. Lauren Thibodeau is tied for 53rd place after finishing the day at 13-over-par.
Carly Haines, who subbed in for the second round, had the shoot of the day when she recorded an ace on the 160-yard par 3. She closed her day with a 6-over-par 78 to sit in a tie for 59th place.
