Amaya Tillman Wins Elite 90 Award for NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Championship

LOUISVILLE, Ky. --- Amaya Tillman, a senior middle blocker from the University of Louisville is the recipient of the Elite 90 award for the 2022 NCAA Division I Championship.
Tillman, majoring in Sports Administraiton, currently carries a 3.945 GPA. She  was presented with the award during the women's Volleyball Championship Dinner on Dec. 14, 2020 in Omaha, Nebraska Earlier today, Tillman was voted to the AVCA Third Team All-America squad. the First Team All East Region Team member leads the conference in blocks per set with 1.48, totaling 157 on the season. The two-time ACC Defensive Player of the Year (2020 and 2022) is tied for sixth nationally in blocks per set and tied for 25th-most blocks this season. She posted a season-best 10 blocks against Pitt and registered 16 games with five or more blocks.
The Elite 90, an award founded by the NCAA, recognizes the true essence of the student-athlete by honoring the individual who has reached the pinnacle of competition at the national championship level in his or her sport, while also achieving the highest academic standard among his or her peers. The Elite 90 is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average participating at the finals site for each of the NCAA's championships.
Eligible student-athletes are sophomores or above academically who have participated in a sport for at least two years with their school. All ties are broken by the number of credits completed.Â
