Louisville is 21-2 and 12-1 in ACC Play
LOUISVILLE, Ky. -Â Â Claire Chaussee finished with a team-high 10 kills, two assists, six digs, and a block to lead the No. 5 University of Louisville volleyball team to a 25-11, 25-21, 25-16 win over NC State Friday night at L&N Federal Credit Union Arena.

The win marks the Cardinal's third consecutive and 15th total sweep on the season UofL now sits at 21-2 overall and 12-1 in conference play. Aiko Jones finished the night with six kills, two aces, and four blocks. Nena Mbonu and Amaya Tillman tallied four kills a piece, while Tillman also added six blocks and two aces.Â

Anna DeBeer returned to action adding an ace and four digs after being sidelined with an injury for the previous four matches.

NC State falls to .500 on the season with the loss to 12-12 overall and 6-7 in conference play. Amanda Rice led the way for the Wolfpack with six kills and two blocks.Â

UofL will return to action this Sunday, Nov. 6 as they are set to host North Carolina at 1 p.m. in L&N Federal Credit Union Arena.

The Cards quickly secured an early 8-3 lead, forcing the Wolfpack into its first timeout of the contest following a block from Raquel Lazaro and Amaya Tillman. Out of the timeout, NC State rallied off three consecutive points to cut the Cardinal lead to two. Louisville proceeded to go on a 7-1 rally to take a 15-7 lead and force a second NC State timeout. The final stretch was dominated by Louisville, outscoring the Wolfpack 10-4. Amaya Tillman and Aiko Jones ended the set for the Cards with a block on NC State's Madison Williams. Louisville totaled four team blocks in the first set as they rolled to a 25-11 win.Â

NC State got out to an early 8-3 advantage following a kill by Amanda Rice, forcing the Cards to take their first timeout of the contest. Amaya Tillman slammed down a kill to bring the Cards back within one point, but the Wolfpack held off the Cards, scoring three consecutive points and leading 16-13. However, Louisville was able to tie the set at 16 a piece with a Raquel Lazaro ace. On the ensuing play, the Cards were able to regain its first lead since 1-0 with an Aiko Jones kill, which capped off a 4-0 run and forced NC State into its second timeout of the set. The second set concluded with a Claire Chaussee kill, as the Cards were able to hold off the Wolfpack 20-25.Â

An Amaya Tillman kill halted a 4-0 NC State rally to help the Cardinals maintain a 12-7 lead. Louisville was then able to expand its lead to 18-11, which was fueled by a pair of Chaussee kills. Elena Scott finished the match for the Cards with an ace to lead Louisville to a 25-16 victory.Â
