Cards Host Indiana for Final Home Games of Fall Season

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -Â The University of Louisville softball team is set to play its final home games of the fall season this weekend hosting a doubleheader against Indiana on Friday at Ulmer Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. with the second game to follow and admission is free.
Last Time
Louisville went 2-1 last weekend, defeating Eastern Kentucky 2-1 and 8-3 in a doubleheader on Saturday. The Cards then fell short against in-state rival Kentucky on Sunday 6-5 after leading 5-1 through four innings.Â
Daisy Hess and Taylor Roby led the charge offensively for the Cards. Hess hit two home runs, had four RBIs, and three runs throughout the three games. Roby also hit two out of the park, totaling four on the fall season, as well as a team-high nine RBIs on the weekend.Â
Five pitchers stepped into the circle to pitch throughout the weekend. Cassie Grizzard led the way registering a team-high six strikeouts and did not allow a run through six innings pitched.Â

Following the doubleheader against the Hoosiers, the Cardinals will wrap up its fall season in Lexington, Ky. with another matchup against the Wildcats on Oct. 29 at 6 p.m.Â

The UofL softball team posted a 27-25 overall record in the midst of a challenging schedule that was ranked 18th in the nation and earned the No. 8 seed in the ACC Championship.
• The Cardinals will return 14 letterwinners and seven starters from last year's team including two-time NFCA All-Southeast Region selection Taylor Roby and ACC All-Freshman honoree Korbe Otis. Louisville also welcomes six newcomers to the 2022-23 roster.
• Holly Aprile is entering her fifth season as UofL's head coach. Aprile has guided the Cardinals to 93 wins and an NCAA regional final appearance in 2019.
