Cardinal Forever Federico Gomez Wins Pre-Qualifier for Argentina Open

Federico Gomez has a earned spot in the 2022 Argentina Open Qualifier 2022 which will take place February 5-13 at the Buenos Aires Lawn Tennis Club.
Gomez, the fourth-seeded player in pre-qualifier defeated fifth-seeded Ignacio Monzón 6-4, 6-4 in the finals of the Pre-Qualifier last weekend to advance to the qualifier. During his tournament run, Gomez won five straight matches, including an upset top-seeded Matias Zukas 6-2, 6-2 in the semifinals.
He opened the tournament with a 7-5, 7-5 win against Ramiro Amarilla and went on to defeat Mateo Del Pino 6-3, 6-3 and prevailed over Fernando Cavallo 5-7, 6-4, 10-6 in the quarterfinals.
The Buenos Aires, Argentina native graduated from Louisville in 2019.
