Cardinals Renew Battle of the Bluegrass Rivalry Tuesday

Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET at Dr. Mark & Cindy Lynn Stadium.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. āĀ The University of Louisville men's soccer team welcomes Kentucky to Dr. Mark & Cindy Lynn Stadium on Tuesday for the annual Battle of the Bluegrass. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET and will be televised on ACC Network.

PROMOTIONS
Tuesday's match will be a Red Out with all fans encouraged to wear red to support the Cardinals. Thundersticks will be given to early arriving fans on Tuesday and $3 hot dogs and sodas will be available all night.

ABOUT THE CARDINALS
The Cardinals tallied a second straight dramatic victory on Friday night, getting a goal from Dante Huckaby in the 105th minute for a 1-0 double overtime win over Bellarmine. Louisville outshot the Knights 17-4 on the evening while Detre Bell recorded his first clean sheet of the season.

Louisville trails the all-time series against Kentucky 15-16-5 in a series that goes back to 1979, but the Cardinals are 8-13-5 against the Wildcats since UK became a varsity program in 1991. UofL is 2-0-1 in the last three meetings in Louisville, including a 3-0 victory in 2019.

In the 2020 chapter of the rivalry, Kentucky downed the Cardinals 3-1 in Lexington. UK led 1-0 at half, but Bryce LeBel leveled the match with a header off a corner kick for his first collegiate goal. However, the Wildcats quickly regained the lead and tacked on a late goal for the final margin.
