No. 14 Cardinals Race Past Western Illinois

Louisville defeated Western Illinois 7-1 for its fifth straight victory.
The seven goals are the most scored by the Cardinals since putting 10 on the board in a win over Asbury Sept. 23, 1987.
Tuesday marked the fifth straight win for Louisville (7-2-0), tying for the third-longest win streak in program history last done from Sept. 9-24, 2016.
The Cardinals' leading goal-scorer got the party started in the 10th minute as Aboubacar Camara tallied the first of his two goals on the night. Macoumba Ba doubled the advantage in the 22nd minute and Pedro Fonseca got in on the act eight minutes later.
Camara recorded his second goal of the half in the 37th minute, putting home a rebound off a Nico Diaz shot to give the Cardinals a 4-0 advantage at halftime.
The goals kept coming in the second half with Sander Roed tapping home a goal from in close just five minutes in.
From there, it was a pair of career-firsts for the Cards. Brandon McManus tallied the first goal of his career in the 55th minute and Ayden Nocus added his first in the 82nd minute to finish off Louisville's scoring on the night.
Western Illinois (0-8-0) broke through with a goal in the closing minutes to tally the first goal in three matches against the Cardinals.
Louisville put 29 more shots up on Tuesday night, its third consecutive match with at least 20. Detre Bell played the opening 45 minutes in goal for the Cardinals, giving him three straight matches without surrendering a goal.
Louisville will now turn its attention to a top-15 showdown on Friday night as the Cardinals travel to No. 4 Duke. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET from Durham, N.C.
