Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET in Syracuse, N.Y.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – After four consecutive home matches, the University of Louisville men's soccer team heads out on the road for a match at Syracuse on Friday. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET and will be televised on ACC Network Extra.
ABOUT THE CARDINALS
The Cardinals tallied a pair of first half goals on their way to a 3-0 victory over No. 25 Wake Forest last Friday night at Dr. Mark & Cindy Lynn Stadium. Aboubacar Camara scored the opening goal, giving him a team-high three on the year, while Josh Jones registered his first collegiate goal and Pedro Fonseca scored from the penalty spot.
SERIES HISTORY
Louisville leads the all-time series against Syracuse 10-2-5 and is 4-1-3 in Syracuse. The Cardinals are unbeaten in the last 13 matches (8-0-5) against the Orange, with SU's last win in the series coming in 2008.
LAST MEETING
Louisville and Syracuse matched up twice during the 2020-21 season. The Cardinals erased a two-goal deficit in the final 15 minutes to secure a 2-2 draw at Syracuse last October before turning in a 3-1 victory in Louisville in March. Aboubacar Camara and Nico Diaz each scored in both matches for the Cardinals.
SCORING BINGE CONTINUES FOR CAMARA
Aboubacar Camara scored just one goal in six matches during the fall of 2020. Since the calendar has flipped to 2021 however, the forward has been among the best goal scorers in the country.
Camara scored in five of Louisville's six spring matches and has kept that roll going this fall. Through five matches, Camara leads the Cardinals and is tied for seventh in the ACC with three tallies. Five of his nine career goals have proven to be game-winners as well including a strike in the 89th minute that lifted the Cardinals past Evansville.
