Louisville Defeats North Carolina During the Final Match of the Cavalier Match Play Classic

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville's women's golf team closed out play at the Cavalier Match Play Tournament at Birdwood Golf course with a 3-2 win over North Carolina on Wednesday.
The fifth-seeded Cardinals won two matches during the match play event, defeating eighth-seeded Richmond 4-1 on Tuesday and sixth-seeded North Carolina on Tuesday.
The Cardinals earned three close wins to notch their victory, with Margot Bechadergue picking up a 3 UP victory to get the day started. After dropping two of her first three holes, the senior went on to win five holes to preserve her victory.
Lauren Hartlage and Hana Ryskova each earned 1 UP victories to help the Cardinals win their second-consecutive match in two days.
Hartlage picked up her victory by winning No. 18 after the two tied No. 16 and No. 17. Ryskova also won on the final home after tying on three-straight holes.
The Cardinals return to action at the ACC Championships in Greensboro, N.C., on April 15-18.
